Tiffield Academy

We are a brand new special school for children and young people between the ages of 4 and 18 who may be autistic (or experience other communication difficulties) and have severe learning difficulties.

Snack and Food Technology

Healthy Snack Provision

We are committed to promoting healthy eating habits and ensuring all children have access to a nutritious snack each day.

Every child is offered daily fresh fruit daily, alongside a variety of other daily health snacks throughout the week, including:

  • Breadsticks
  • Cereal
  • Rice Cakes
  • Crackers
  • Digestive biscuits

Providing a range of snacks allows children to experience different foods while supporting their concentration, wellbeing and readiness to learn.

If your child would prefer to bring their own snack, please ensure this is provided daily and is clearly labelled.

We DO NOT allow for fizzy drinks, sweets or chocolate bars to be consumed on-site as part of the learners' snack or lunch.

To support our exciting snack and food technology provision, we ask families to contribute £2 per week, broken down as follows:

  • £1 per week for snacks
  • £1 per week for food technology activities

Food Technology

The weekly contribution towards food technology helps us provide ingredients and resources for practical cooking and food preparation activities. These sessions give children valuable opportunities to:

  • Learn about healthy eating
  • Develop food preparation skills
  • Explore new ingredients and flavours
  • Build confidence and independence in the kitchen

We greatly appreciate the support of families in helping us continue to offer these enriching experiences for all pupils. The contributions received are used directly to fund the ingredients, snacks and resources needed throughout the year.
