Tiffield Academy opened on 1 September 2025

We are a brand new special school for children and young people between the ages of 4 and 18 who may be autistic (or experience other communication difficulties) and have severe learning difficulties.

Welcome

What an incredible start we have had to life at Tiffield Academy. We enjoyed our official opening, welcomed a wonderful staff team and finally (and most importantly) opened our doors to our first cohort of learners! Our children, and their families, have settled in brilliantly and we are already working together to give our learners the best possible school experience.

We have a fantastic, purpose-built school which has been designed with the expertise of those who understand what our children need to feel safe, comfortable and confident in their new setting. Now that we have moved in, we are continuing to make improvements to ensure our spaces are functional, versatile and exactly what our children need. The sensory spaces, library, music, art and cooking rooms provide wonderful opportunities to enrich our children’s everyday experiences.

Our curriculum ensures that academic potential is reached, alongside nurturing pastoral support which will develop our children's sense of self and identity. Our ethos enables our children to understand who they are and how they fit into the world around them, recognising and celebrating strengths and differences.

Our staff team have been carefully selected and demonstrate, through their work with our children, the values of our school: to be kind, to be curious and to be ambitious. We feel incredibly lucky to have already appointed our new teachers for January 2026 and they bring a wealth of experience to ensure that our next cohort can thrive.

Personally, I feel grateful every day to be leading our wonderful school. Getting to know our children and their families continues to be the biggest privilege of all.
