Hello everyone,

My name is Jonathan and I have been appointed as Curriculum Leader for communication at Tiffield Academy. 

This is an area of huge importance and I look forward to ensuring we use a total communication approach throughout the school providing our learners every opportunity to develop their communication on a daily basis and prepare them for adulthood. 

I have a wealth of experience having worked in SEND education for the past 20 years and will also be teaching PE as part of my role. This is an area which I have specialised in at my previous school where I built an outward facing PE department and created an innovative PE curriculum demonstrating exceptional practice, ensuring cultural capital and pupil voice was at the heart of it. 

3 facts about me:

1. I like to run in my spare time and ran the 2025 London marathon in April for 3 charities, The Skye High Foundation, Mind and Shelter. 

2.I am a trustee for the Skye High Foundation, a charity who support families who have lost a baby as part of a multiple birth.

3. At weekends I love to spend time with my family, whether it's going on a bike ride around the canal or taking them to tennis or football, there's no better feeling!

I am really excited to have the opportunity to help shape a new state of the art SEND provision and cannot wait to get started.

I look forward to working with our new staff team and getting to know our learners and families in due course.
